Good podcast - I'm beginning to enjoy these !

FWIW, my work involves basically failing 100 times each day, then succeeding once, and that's a good day.

I feel for people who have to succeed 100 times in a row !

Software engineering. Like a writer, I can write 100 versions that don't work, as long as the "final draft" works, it's a good day, and all failures are forgotten.

Oh, nice! Thanks for following back up and answering that question!

I'm certainly an expert in failing, so at least now I know a good possible back up career if it comes down to it!

Do you really believe these governments have destroyed their chemical/biological weapons, Stan? Somehow, with all the lies we get fed, it’s hard to believe it.

And what happened to that treaty of a NO to nuclear weapons? Because, there was one, wasn’t there?

It’s very hard to stay positive, have an optimistic view of our future, the future of our grandchildren looks very bleak, Stan. Everything points towards the post apocalyptic stories I read about, Stan. ☹️😢

Go spend some time on those sites above and you'll feel better.

I will say that if a country used chemical weapons on U.S. troops or citizens, in most cases, the response if nuclear retaliation. That's why all the big countries realized storing thousands of pounds of chemical weapons that you'd never use, and that you'd have to protect and keep stabilized, was really a pretty stupid thing.

So, all of the countries wanted to do this. Just research it some and you'll feel better. Could Russia and China hang onto small quantities that they kept hidden? Yes. If they used them would we know it was them based on the chemical properties? Yes.

Our response would be overwhelming. So, why not for financial benefit destory them if you're Russia or China. They have plenty of nukes. They don't need chemical weapons anymore.

What about viral weapons? Spreading a virus, with having a vaccine for their own people? I don’t know, Stan. I only pray there doesn’t appear a psychopath politician or terrorist with with a destructive mind, with only power possession and world domination as their goals. 🙏

Am I reading too many post apocalyptic stories? Thankfully I have stopped reading these specific kind of post apocalyptic stories, the virus, the nuclear, the EMP.. too depressing.

Nowadays my post apocalyptic books tend towards cyberpunk, at least there’s more SciFi into it. I love grimdark fantasy too, but also not reading nowadays, it’s being nearly a year now. I even stopped reading two fantastic series I was receiving as ARCs, sadly.

Nowadays I’m only reading light, fun and entertaining SciFi, Cyberpunk, and some thrillers, techno thrillers, and geopolitical and spy thrillers. I hope one day I’ll get back to Fantasy, epic fantasy and grimdark fantasy, Hard SciFi, Historical, Alternate History, and WWI and WWII Books again. Not losing hope. I still keep purchasing and downloading them. 😄

Yeah, stop reading that stuff. You’re only making yourself too anxious. More Bible. More lighter stuff. 👊❤️
