The latest can’t-miss issue of military and defense news (plus, some history, motivation, and wisdom). In this edition, I talk a bit about why I’m doing this. And then we cover the heat wave in Europe (and how many people have already died), the news that Russia is going to buy hundreds of drones from Iran for use in Ukraine, the news that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may visit Taiwan, and then a big, long-term issue that Israel will have to confront. Plus, plenty of motivation and wisdom.
I agree with your view on Taiwan, but ironically, it's notable that attempts by "officialdom" to walk back the president's comments over the last year and a half have - it could be said - furthered America's policy of strategic ambiguity over whether we would, in fact, come to the island's defense. Now, to be clear, I don't think the administration is playing multidimensional chess on this issue, but simply that the back and forth speaks to pre-existing divides within the foreign policy community over how to manage the US-China relationship.

Thanks for the comment. I couldn't have said it better myself!!
